Flying

Well I've always dreamed of flying
So I put on my angel wings and got higher
But I flew close to the sun
And my wings they turned to stone
Now I'm back on the ground again

Then I tried to build an airplane
Figured that would get me some place
But my tank ran out of fuel
And the plane began to fall
Now I'm back on the ground again

And I guess this is how it’s gonna be
Always a victim of gravity
Turns out my flying machines
Aren’t what I thought they’d be
Now I’m back on the ground again

Then I tried to be an astronaught
So I put on my space helmet and took off
But I flew to close to a black hole
And my space ship lost control
Now I'm back on the ground again

And I guess this is how it’s gonna be

Aren’t what I thought they’d be
Now I’m back on the ground again

But If I don't try to touch the sky
I'll be ground for the rest of my life
So I'll get real high and I will learn to fly
Fuck it you know this is my time

So then I Built a ladder
And it took a lot longer
But when I started towards the top
Man I didn't fucking stop
I won't be back on the ground again
